The objective is to be the first team to reach 7 points or force the opposing team to fall to -7. Points are earned by the team that wins the bid, scoring one point per book acquired over a set of 6 if they successfully meet or exceed their contract. However, they lose 1 point per bid over 6 tricks if they fail.

Bid Whist has a slightly steeper learning curve but becomes profoundly rewarding as you develop your strategy over time to triumph over opponents. Sessions remain dynamic with uptown, downtown, and "no trump" bid types. You can choose between easy, medium, and hard modes while keeping track of your overall and session-specific statistics to gauge your progress!

Quickfire rules:

1. After dealing the cards evenly among the four players, each player has the option to pass or bid on the number of books they believe their team can win above 6 (uptown for high cards, downtown for low cards, or 'no trumps').
2. The winning bidder then selects the trump suit if an uptown/downtown bid was made or the direction if a 'no trump' bid was made. They then take the kitty into their hand, which can be sported (face-up) according to your settings, and discard a number of cards equal to that in the kitty. The winning bidders earn the first book for taking the kitty.
3. Each player takes turns playing one card, following suit if able. If they cannot follow suit, they may play any other card in their hand, including a trump card.
4. The objective for the winning bidding team is to acquire enough books to meet or exceed their contract. The other team aims to win enough books to prevent them from doing so.
5. At the end of each round, the winning bidders score 1 point for each book won over six if they successfully met or exceeded their contract. However, if they failed to meet their contract, they lose points equal to their bid size.

The game ends when one team reaches the win target of 7 points or forces the opposing team to drop to or below -7.
